WELCOME TO ST. THOMAS!

Ash Wednesday Service March 5, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.

St Thomas Episcopal Church offers sanctuary and spiritual renewal to everyone regardless of age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious background, social or economic circumstance, political affiliation or where you are on your spiritual journey. We welcome all who desire deep relationships and value our relationships with others over the differences that separate us.

We believe all people are beloved of God and we strive to live and proclaim God’s love through all our actions and words. As a community and as individuals, we choose to Lead With Love, shine light in the darkness, create safe spaces and offer hope, courage, peace and strength for the journey. We are here for each other and for those in need of any kind. St. Thomas is a place of refuge for those who are wearied by the world and desire nourishment for the spirit and the soul. We welcome you to come as you are and to join us in the sacred task of loving a new world into being.

“WHAT IF PEOPLE WERE INVITED TO COME TELL WHAT THEY ALREADY KNOW OF GOD

INSTEAD OF TO LEARN WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE?”

What if they were blessed for what they are doing in the world instead of chastened for not doing more at church?  What if church felt more like a way station than a destination?  What if the church’s job were to move people out the door instead of trying to keep them in, by convincing them that God needed them more in the world than in the church?” -Barbara Brown Taylor

Legacy of Social Justice & Housing Advocacy

In the long tradition of churches advocating for civil rights, affordable housing, and the voice of the disenfranchised, St. Thomas Episcopal Church in South Park Hill has always fought for the rights and voice of our neighbors in North East Park Hill.

Let’s Talk About grace, unity, compassion and mercy.

Faith & Climate

An interview with The Rev. Terri Hobart

O God, you have bound us together in a common life. Help us, in the midst of our struggles for justice and truth, to confront one another without hatred or bitterness, and to work together with mutual forbearance and respect; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

To keep vigil is an act of hope. We watch for the signs of God’s presence in unexpected and subtle ways. Through vigilant watching, we see into, through and beyond the external circumstances of the moment. It invites us into a world that asks us to savor the presence of God.
